Privacy Policy

What we collect, how we use it, and what you can do about it.

Effective May 3, 2026

The Planters' Guild is a publication of Petruscio Farms, a small business based in the Bay Area, California. This page explains what information we collect about you, why, and what you can do about it. We've tried to keep it short and in plain language. If anything's unclear, email christopher@theplantersguild.com.

What we collect

If you sign up for the Founding Member reservation list, we collect your email address and (optionally) your name. That's it. We don't ask for your address, phone number, payment information, or anything else at this stage.

The Guild website itself doesn't run analytics or tracking scripts. It's static HTML hosted on Netlify, behind Cloudflare's CDN. Both services log standard server access data — IP addresses, browser types, request paths — for security and performance purposes. We don't see or use that data ourselves.

How we use your email

If you've subscribed, we use your email to send Guild publications: Plant Profiles, Field Notes, the Garden Forecast — typically two emails per month. We also send occasional updates about the Guild itself, like launch announcements and milestone moments. That's the entire scope.

We will never sell, rent, trade, or share your email address with anyone, ever. Your email stays in our subscriber list (managed by Kit, the email service provider, formerly known as ConvertKit) and is used only by us.

Third-party services

Three third parties are involved in running the Guild, and they each see different slices of your data.

Kit (kit.com) holds your subscription record — email and name — and handles the actual sending of newsletters. Their privacy policy applies to their portion of the data flow.

Cloudflare (cloudflare.com) provides DNS and CDN services. They see standard web request data when you visit theplantersguild.com.

Netlify (netlify.com) hosts the website itself and serves the pages to your browser.

Your rights

You can unsubscribe from any Guild email at any time using the link at the bottom of every newsletter. You can also email christopher@theplantersguild.com to:

If you live in the EU or UK (covered by GDPR) or California (covered by CCPA), these are your rights by law. We honor them regardless of where you live.

Cookies

The Guild website doesn't set its own cookies. The Kit subscription form embedded on the Founding Member page may set cookies necessary for that form to function.

Changes to this policy

If we materially change this policy, we'll note the change and update the effective date at the top of this page. For substantive changes — new third-party services, expanded data collection — we'll also email subscribers.
